The kids loved it

My homeschool kids were growing this for a science project that also works great for our 2 kittens. I put one packet of seeds in each one and one is growing very nicely the other one not so much.

solves tugging problem

My cat likes cat grass but she tends to tug on the grass rather than chewing bits off. I tried this company's other product with the plastic container to see if she would actually like it. She did, but like I said, she tends to tug on the grass and knock the container over etc. These stay put.After some experience, I stopped using all of the seeds in the packets each time as she doesn't really need all of that. Also, you can get the wheat berries/seeds at any bulk foods store. I might try some other types of seeds to see if she likes them better.I also plan to reuse the "soil" by just breaking it up and taking the plant matter out. I haven't tried this yet but if it fails, I will post an update. I don't expect it to fail as they are really just made of coconut husks. I don't think they provide a lot of nutrients.The best part about having two is that as the one starts to die off, I can get the second one started so she always has grass to nibble on.Overall, very satisfied.

Great Idea, && GROWS SO FAST!!!

This is such a cool idea, and I am so happy with the results, and how FAST it grew! Not just that, but it's SO easy to grow it, my 11 y/o insisted that she wanted to do it all on her own, and she did! You just put the compressed dirt circles in the bottom of each planter, add a bunch of water, but in small increments to make sure you don't put too much in. Then you put the seeds in (there are more than you need, and I wish she had kept the extra!) and cover it up with saran wrap, and let it sit for a few days. You can watch it sprout within 24 hours, and they get FULLY grown within a week!!!This whimsical product really joined my love of plants with my daughter's love of cats, and they really go together so well, and give a very classy yet fun feeling to our home.Not only are these the absolute cutest planters ever, but the grass is a great treat for your cat as well!!! We will be reusing these for a very long time to come, both my daughter and I just love the vibe they give off!! They loved them!

The instructions were very clear, it gives you two soil pellets and two individual bags of seeds. It is recommended to use one bag in each pot but I decided to use one bag across the both to have another one for them, the grass was just as lush as seen in photos. The growth was very quick, I kept a plastic ziploc bag over the cups and the grass did seem to do very well with that. The cats were able to eat off of it for about 1-2 weeks, I would give it to them 30 minutes at a time and keep in an innaccessible area otherwise to prevent tummy upset. The soil/seeds did start to mold out, I did notice the mold thankfully before feeding it to my cats but I do believe it was fault on my end for maintaining too moist of an environment. In my opinion these still worked great despite the mold and the cats really loved having the fresh option.
